10 Years, 11 Months...Family and friends Christmas time fun!
More to come...
I had a lot of friend and family time this month. Miss Amanda and Kyrie were in town from Oklahoma and I got to play with her at her Grandma's house. I really missed Kyrie! I had Savannah and Luna over to spend the night.
I was really looking forward to Christmas and opening presents! On Christmas Eve,we went to Great Grandma Rose's house and visited her. Then, we went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's. I wasn't feeling great and read most of the time there. I was also pretty tired, so I stayed at home with Dad for the Church service and went to bed early. I had another wiggly tooth and Ellie pulled it out before going to Church!
We had a quiet Christmas at home, and went to Aunt Lisa's to celebrate in the evening. Papa Ron and Linda came here the next day. Linda gave me a card shuffler that I loved at their house, and gave our family the Fast Track game that we enjoy playing. We played a lot of it that day and our family has played it almost every night since.
Aurora took Ellie, Avonlea, and me to the Wicked sing-a-long movie. I have been listening to the music on Alexa since then. Jonathan and Jacob were home and we went to the Fajens for games one day. We went over there another day for a family picture. We had a Brunch worship again at Church and I discovered that I lov French toast sticks!
New Year's Eve was Emily day! Mom took me shopping to spend the money Papa Ron gave me for Christmas. I had a lot of fun picking out clothes that I liked. I learned a lot about budgeting and sales and ended up with a lot of awesome new digs. We ate a Subway, I fell in love with Bath and Body Works, and I got my first pair of Converse shoes. That night, I had Luna over and we did our traditional cookie decorating. We stayed up really late. I went to Luna's aunt's house the next day to eat clam chowder (it was ok) and pet horses.
Jill and Ale came to visit us. Aurora and Avonlea came over to hang out and I got to have a lot of fun talking about the Warrior Cats. The next day, Autumn came over to hang out.
We had a lot of snow and ice and missed our first three days that we were supposed to go back to school. We were supposed to do Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) on our days off which was pretty easy-a lot of reading, math problems, and easy work. We only went to school Thursday that week so I only got to go to EEE before we had a lot of snow and had Friday off. We left early to go to Lawrence, Kansas for Ellie's first volleyball tournament. I spent a lot of time on my Switch and reading, and helped put up the score for a game for live streaming.
Papa Ron and Linda came up to deliver a couch and we played more Fast Track. Our family has been playing almost every night.
We had a 3 day weekend for MLK day. I had Savannah and Luna spend the night. I went to Ottos's the next day and hung out with him. Mom took Ellie and me to the dentist and then visited Aurora and Avonlea the next day. It was so cold, we had a late start the day back. I'm getting used to not having school!

10 Years, 10 Months...Thanksgiving time
More to come...
We tried to do a lot of fun things this month even though Ellie was struggling. I had Savannah spent the night so that distracted me.
I went to Ellie's Hometown Heroes game in Jefferson City. She was selected to play with multiple volleyball players from around the area and do a showcase. I was mostly excited about getting Central Dairy before the game. I also went to her volleyball banquet. There, I was most excited about the cookies that they had.
We celebrated Thanksgiving early at Lisa's house. It didn't feel like Thanksgiving, but we had fun playing games. I got my hair cut and had another game night at Aunt Lisa's with Dad. Our family went to Washington for Thanksgiving. We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's and I was very quiet and kept to myself. I didn't feel great and enjoyed reading my books. We went to Papa Ron and Linda's the next day and played a lot of Fast Track, girls against guys (mom being a guy.) The girls won every game!
We had some snow and Mom and I played outside, making snow angels and going sledding. I have quite a few wiggly teeth and was scared to pull any out. Ellie didn't hesitant pulled that tooth right out of there! We had our school Christmas concert so I got to perform with the 5th grade and the choir. Ellie even came to watch! We also enjoyed St. Nicholas' visit.
I have been looking forward to JA Biztown. The 5th grade has been preparing by learning about jobs and checking accounts. Mom wanted to go on the field trip but has missed so many days this semester and couldn't. Dad was off that day and decided to go! He was stationed to help another group though. I was the CEO of BizMart, and our group made slime and sold bandanas and Mochi's. I worked with Sally as the CFO and we worked well together. I think we both decided to put our differences behind us. The 5th grade also went to the Nature school for 2 days again. I was not looking forward to it, but made it through. I'm just not an outdoors kind of person.
We finally had our last day of school before a long break. It was Nana Arden's birthday, so we went to celebrate and eat dinner at her house. It had been a long time since we had done that. We also had our Church Christmas dinner. I'm looking forward to opening presents for Christmas!

10 Years, 9 Months Old...Ups and downs
More to come...
We had some fun stuff happen this month at school. Our whole school read The Wild Robot, and then we got to go to see the movie. I had my last Monster Mash and went with Mom but spent time with friends. We had our last Halloween party in elementary school.
I also had fun with my friends. Savannah and Luna hung out at our house before the Trunk or treat and chili cook-off at Church. I wanted to just hand out candy at our house for Halloween, but Otto invited me to go with him in his neighborhood. We had such a great time and did the big candy trading at the end of the night.
We had some family time too. I went to Ellie's district volleyball games and tried to cheer her on. I'm just not interested in it. I somehow missed the flu shot at school, and got it at Hy-Vee with Ellie. Grandma Kathy came here to be with us while Mom and Dad went to their conference.
The day Mom and Dad got back, we found out that Ellie's boyfriend Deyton had killed himself. I really didn't know how to feel or how to act and it took me a while to talk. I was first worried that Ellie would do the same, but she reassured me that I would have to put up with her for a long, long time. Then I worried that Ellie will never be the same. She is just very sad and I never know how she is going to act. It is really hard to know how to handle this. I went to his candlelight vigil and Ellie got to talk about her memories of him. I also went to his memorial for a little bit, and then went to Nana Arden's for the rest of the time.
I've been trying to do my things even though Ellie is struggling. I'm reading the Warrior Cats book series which has 92 books in it! Mom and I are still reading Percy Jackson at night. I've been going to Choir. I did get a sore throat and stayed home one day, but luckily it was only one day.
We had our learning Fair at EEE, and Mom and Dad both came! That has never happened before and I'm so glad Dad could make it. I taught them all about the Fibonacci sequence and my friend and I played the dice game Tenzi. Mom and Dad went to my conference at school. Ms. White had a lot of good things to say about me. I also got Advanced on both MAP tests from last year!
Papa Rick and Nana Peggy came for a visit during everything that was happening with Deyton. Ellie wasn't up for socialization, and I went to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with them. I really enjoyed it, but it was hard to not be with my family. Mom and Dad and I went with them to Olive Garden and I really enjoyed my food. We had another family dinner and games with Aunt Lisa's family.

10 Years, 8 Months...How many days in a row can I be sick?
More to come...
Our team had a soccer game and a soccer practice and little did I know that was the last ones I would really go to this season. Our family (minus Ellie) went to Alex's birthday party. We had a day off from school and mom still had to go. It was on a Monday, so Dad was home.
I didn't feel well at school one day, but had no fever so I had to stay. I ended up getting a fever at night. Dad and Dom took turns staying home with me. My fever lasted for 8 days! No strep, no flu, no Covid, no pneumonia-just some virus. I laid on the couch the whole time and read and watched Harry Potter. I didn't feel like doing anything.
I thought I was feeling better the day I was supposed to go to Ellie's game in Union and then spend 4 my 4 days with Grandma Kathy. I got to the game and got very chilled and laid on the bleachers with my blanket. I decided to stay with Grandma Kathy, but other than playing cards and some screen time with my friends, I didn't feel like doing much. It was even a struggle to go to Orange Leaf!
Mom picked me up on Saturday morning and I had been fever free for about 24 hours. I was determined to go to my soccer game. The coach even put me in for a while, but I got to exhausted, I came out. I was well enough to go to Savannah's birthday party at the Grandma's Place break out room. It was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends that I hadn't seen in over a week.
I was able to go back to school and was Star of the Week in my class. Mom helped me make a poster with pictures of my favorite things and we brought in donuts one day. I was able to go to soccer practice and did some giggling. I was so impressed when our coach did a handspring off the soccer ball! He said he would do it again on Saturday if we won. Unfortunately, I got sick again and wasn't able to go to the game. We also won, so he never did the handspring.
On Friday, I had some weird white spots in the back of my throat so mom made an appointment to get it checked out. I didn't have a fever that morning or when I got there. They swabbed my nose and throat and it turns out, I had the flu! Three hours later, my temperature was 104.7! I was so tired of being sick and laying around, but that's all I could do for a while. I thought I was better and went to Savannah's birthday pumpkin carving party, but came back home with another fever and stayed home with Dad. I went back to school and have slowly gained my energy back. I was able to have Luna over after school on Friday and spend the night, but that's about all I could do. I am really hoping to get more energy soon!

10 Years, 7 Months...School and Soccer
More to come...
I've spent a lot of time with friends this month. I went over to Savannah's dad's house and we were going to go swimming in the lake. It rained and we couldn't go swimming, so we stayed inside to play with Cole and his friend Wes. Our family went to Corinne's birthday party. I also got to play at Otto's house and had a blast! I have gotten into a new book series called Warrior Cats in addition to Mom reading Percy Jackson to me.
I was supposed to have my first soccer practice but it was cancelled because it was too hot! We finally got to start practicing, but we only meet once a week. I enjoy playing defense, and we had our first three games. I am #5. I Everyone is saying that I have improved a lot since the last time I played. I had a huge cheering squad for my second game-both parents and 6 grandparents were there! I went to Ellie's first games and was not happy. I'm just not into volleyball and I really enjoy staying home by myself.
Dad and I stayed home from church with a sore throat, but Luna came over and spent the night into Labor Day. I was supposed to have a 3 day field trip to the nature school which I was not looking forward to. I went the first day and chose to go to EEE instead. I went the third day, but got picked up early because I just didn't feel well. No fever and my throat looks ok, but I just feel puny.
We had Get the Scoop night at Cedar Ridge. I played with my friends who were there and ate ice cream before heading to Ellie's volleyball game at Hallsville. I didn't complain at all that night, but I did have my iPad and a book. We also had my last Mornings with Misses at school. Mom ate donuts with me, but we forgot to take pictures! I started choir again this year even though I said I wouldn't.
